There’s so much richness in Italian cuisine, a restaurateur could be forgiven for trying to serve it all. Mike Colombaro, however, decided to focus the cuisine of Gamerboni Restaurant exclusively on Italian seafood. Since opening his restaurant in 1986, Mike has perfected his signature dish: Casseruola di mare (casserole of the sea). “You get the different shellfish,” he explains, “and a tomato sauce, basil, olive oil…and the pasta, it’s made with the same sauce as the fish.”
If that’s not enough to lure you in, Gamerboni’s calamari and scallops will. Each dish is cooked with the finest attention to detail by an Italian-born chef, making diners feel like they’re vacationing along the Adriatic Coast. And if you get to chatting with Mike, he’ll let you in on his personal recommendations. “My favourite dish right now is called the linguine Gamberoni,” he shares. “It’s garlic linguine with just scallops over pasta, with garlic, olive oil, a touch of chilli.”

just moved to Toronto a few weeks back, girlfriend took me to Gamberoni told me it would remind me of home. I actually got to speak italian. Girlfriend took me to a couple places on College supposedly little Italy. Made new friends and after googling the restaurant i felt its my way to say thank you for my experience. The whole family are good people and they make you feel at home. Ate like a true Italian and lemme tell you coming from NYC i know my Italian food. Thank you guys my new spot grazie tanto.
I go to Gamberoni now and again. . The food is fantastic and I never order from the menu. The secret is to ask owner Nick what to eat on that occasion. He always makes a good recommendation such as their best-in-the-city veals. A great place to go for a lazy meal
I go to Gamberoni all the time. I take my family, clients and friends. I could eat all of my meals there and wouldn't get tired of it, but I might put on weight if I did. The food is fantastic and I never order from the menu. The secret is to ask owner Nick what to eat on that occasion. He always makes a good recommendation such as sauteed garlic lobster, Adriatic sea bass or their best-in-the-city veals. Their wines aren't too shabby either. They have a lovely Sauvignon Blanc. And if you're a football (soccer) fan, owner Nick supports AC Milan and brother Mike Inter Milan. It is quite funny when they argue with each other about football. All in all, the best restaurant in TO!
This is without a doubt the best "local" restaurant at which I've eaten. The friendly owners and staff combined with great, consistent, yummy food make Gamberoni's the place for a really comfortable, guaranteed enjoyable dinner. Nothing too fancy....just really good food and really good service.
JUST MOVED IN AROUND THE CORNER WHEN EARLY ONE MORNING I PASSED BY THE RESTAURANT AND SMELLED THIS WONDERFUL AROMA. I WALKED IN INTRODUCED MYSELF AND MADE A RESERVATION FOR LATER ON THAT EVENING. ATTENDED WITH MY WIFE AND WE LOVED IT. WARM AND COZY IT FELT AS IF WE TOOK A TWO HOUR VACATION TO ROME. WELL DESERVED MEAL AFTER THE MOVING, GREAT PEOPLE, FAMILY OWNED WHICH I LOVE AND GLAD TO HAVE OUR OWN LITTLE LOCAL PLACE A FEW STEPS AWAY. I WOULD RECCOMEND IT TO EVERYONE. WHEN THE WAITER COMES AND ASKS YOU IF YOU WOULD LIKE BRUSCHETTA TO START WITH SAY YES BECUASE ITS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.
