We were seated and waited 7 minutes while others around us were served...got our coffee and our food came quickly. Food was very good but service needs a lot of improvement. Had to hold up our cups for more coffee and no table checks were done. Sat for another 10 minutes with empty plates in front of us and 3 servers passed without taking empty plates. Had to ask for our bill. Overall food excellent but I think this is where service staff comes to die....smile ladies!!!!
I brought my family to the Hyland this week and as always the food was excellent (and too much!) and the service was very friendly. Food is always delivered promptly, the restaurant is always clean, and overall, it is just a nice meal out with the family. I definitely recommend to any families visiting Port Perry. Us locals don't need convincing.
We love this place! Always yummy. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner! Kids love the chicken fingers and pasta, I love the hyland burger. Hubby loves the club sandwich. OOhhh and the home fries ... rubs tummy:) The staff is always friendly the place is always clean. Thanks for the good eats.

GREAT FOOD GREAT SERVICE VERY CLEAN!!!! THAT IS WHAT I LOOK FOR WHEN I GO OUT TO EAT. THE PRICES ARE FAIR AND THE FOOD IS REALLY REALLY GOOD . I HAVE TRIED SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GREAT. NO MATTER WHAT TIME I GO I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED MY MEAL AND THE SERVICE. .ALSO THE PARTY I AM WITH HAS ALSO ENJOYED IT EACH AND EVERY TIME. My mother-in-law and I went for lunch today and it confirmed that I will never be returning. After waiting over half an hour for our meal (when there were only 4 other tables there - and 3 waitresses), I had the fish and chips. Not too shabby, but my fish was definitely not fresh. The fries were nothing wonderful either. My mother-in-law had grilled halibit that was disgustingly rubbery and had no taste, and the "greek" potatoes were definitely over done. Our waitress had a serious attitude problem and didn't come to check on us the entire meal.
The "cheesecake" we had for desert tasted like cream cheese mashed together with cheap whipcream. Absolutely disgusting!
To top it all off, the place was extremely dirty. The tables were not completely washed, there were crumbs all over most of the booths, and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a week. Trust me, if you go, you will be disappointed.
