Been to Avani quite a few times and was never left disappointed. Great food, good drinks, service is pretty good. Would highly recommend!

I visited Avani over the long weekend and was very impressed with the service and quality of food. If you enjoy Asian/Indian cuisine, its worth the money.
Gosh, I have never had such great Indian food in my life! When I landed in Toronto, I knew I had to go to Avani Asian Indian Bistro for dinner. I've heard such good things about them and every bit is true. Avani Asian Indian Bistro is the #1 Indian restaurant in the GTA. The rack of lamb was absolutely fantastic and presented in such a beautiful fashion. I ended my meal with the mango ice cream which was deep fried! Yum! These guys get it when it comes to great Indian cuisine and great service!
3rd visit to this restaurant over the past 2 years. Have thought it to be pretty good in the past but was not up to par at all last night. Food was good though even when asking for mild it was spricy, but the place looked dirty as the sun shone into the restaurant and there was so many flies! Nasty!
Service was painfully slow...we waited 40 minutes for our entrees after the appetizers. Wine was warm, had to ask for ice which came in glasses to add to our wine glasses.
Pretty expensive for a mediocre experience at best.
We came about this place by accident. Surpringly after walking in near the dead end mall - this place seemed upscale. It wasn't just any upscale like the Downtown Toronto restaurants claim to be although lack decor completely but rely on the street their situated on to make up for the downfall. This place had decent decor. Contrary to the other reviews here, I guess maybe we got lucky - but we had both waiters serve us and make jokes. They were very friendly. Their food was a bit pricey, but I suppose your paying for the decor here. The food tasted fine. Not only was the food priced a bit high - the chicken platter didn't come with rice or naan which were ordered later. All in all - it became very pricey when you consider the basics come at a price here. the food was fresh as was the naan. But we had a great time here overall...
