    great nite

    Went to a great spot for new years eve. Farly new to this area of Brampton and have been to magnums a few times.I went with a friend and bought tickets in advance ($40.00 Plus tax and tip) i thought it was cheep for new years but wanted to be close to home.Had a great filet steak and shrimp dinner.They had a great 5 person band don't know there name but fun to dance to.All in all a fun nite close to home to bring in the new year, great food, nice staff.One thing i noticed that this place doesn't look much from the outside but looks great inside.

    on the august long weekend about 11 of us went for some food and drinks on sunday . i guess the waitress was busy doing nothing as we waited 35 minutes before she came outside to the patio . i requested a beer and she said ya sure and walked away from the table ignoring the other 10 people at the table . this continued all night .1 drink everytime she would eventually come outside .after eating we waited 40 minutes for her to come outside and she walked right by our table to her friends table as far as i can guess .then i made a comment about how our dishes had been sitting there for almost an hour what a mistake i ordered a beer and when she agian eventually came out she put the beer down and said that will be your last one ? all at our table were shocked as we were doing nothing but talking and having a laugh .no one was drunk nor remotely impaired but she too kan attitude that 1 cost her a decent tip from the whole table 2 lost people that would have come back if not for the lousy service and bad attitude from said waitress . overall we would not return to magnums as they seem to be more interested in other things than doing there job.by the way the place was prety much empty all night now i see why >

    NASCAR AT MAGNUMS

    I have been meeting with friends and business associates at Magnums during the day for years. My clients enjoy meeting over a cold pint of draft to discuss business. We always order from the daily specials of the day section of the menu. The choices are changing all the time and the food is always great, its also on the table within a short period of time so you can get back to work without issues. I decided to go to Magnums on the weekend to check out the NASCAR crowd. A great group of regulars who follow the Nascar every week with enthusiasm. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Wings along with some Mesquite Chicken Wings, I love em both, and to wash it down, anyone knows I love my draft beer, what brand thats right - Blue, don't even have to ask, the staff, all of them know what brand to bring to the table when I say "Im thirsty". It is a different group on the weekend during Nascar than the usual business lunch crowd during the week. What I find awsome is everyone is the same in spirit and welcomes the social aspect of visiting Magnums. My office used to be in the area, as was my house, and just like Jim's downtown at Queen and Carlaw its worth the drive to see your friends new and old and enjoy the great food at Magnums. The draft cost me about 5 bucks give or take, the wings 10 bucks give or take, and the way the staff makes you feel when you go to Magnums - priceless. Its like your larger family of friends and business associates. (I really do pay by Mastercard too) Now new Years is coming up and I am remiss in not reviewing New Years from last year but I promise I will soon, and what I will say is this, the Christmas Dinner at Magnums was/is the talk of the town for the last 10 years and the New Years 2010 dinner and party was even better, so I will get to that in detail. What you need to know is the New Years party is open to the public, and the Christmas party is just for the regulars. So either estabish yourself as part of the larger family if you want to be at the table at christmas, or buy your New Years tickets early if you want to get in on probably the best Christmas and New Years party in town. I still have to tell you about the specials, but you will have to watch for my next review of Magnums if you want to know about the great lunch menu for business meetings. P.S. if you don't agree with me I know some great lawyers.
