Meet the owner

Originally from Saskatchewan, Kelly Buryniuk moved to Edmonton when he was a young boy. He's developed a lot of retail experience over the years, specifically through working with his mother and father operating a furniture store run in Beverly for many years. Noting the changing times, Kelly transformed his furniture store into a pawn shop to meet his customers' evolving needs. “I noticed that my customers had changed their buying patterns; in some instances they needed my help,” says Kelly.

With Pioneer Jewellery & Loan, he wanted to create a different kind of pawn shop – one built upon great customer service that goes beyond the basics of doing business. “There is no reason why the shopping experience cannot be improved for my customers,” he says. “Many of them have hardships and need my service.”

    Went to store today for the first time. The owner and staff were excellent to me. I had never stepped foot in a pawn store before and it turned out to be a pleasure. 12 inches was mentioned and we all had a laugh. Only the staff and I know what that's about. Lol. I would definitely recommend this store and I'll go back

    Went into the store today looking for a little advice. The guy who owns the place another fellow took time to help us out even though we were not looking to buy anything. He was so upfront and honest. He gave me some tips and some free advice. Rudy is awesome. I will be going back and taking my business with me.
