Fridays are great at Mels! I get two large pieces of fish, homemade fries...enough for two people..cole slaw & gravy for $10!!! Tax included..Fresh, hot and delicious
I haven't eaten there in a while, but I used to live in an apartment 1/2 a block away and would eat there every chance I got. It had everything good fish&chips should - good flavour, crispy batter home made chips, all wrapped in newspaper.
I've since moved to Cape Breton and, although I've spent 8 years trying, I haven't found any that compare to Mel's!
This restaurant is the cleanest that I've ever seen!!! The bathrooms are spot less you can tell that things are in order!
The waitresses are quick and friendly and make you feel like you are a regular customer!

When you are in the mood for something greasy and fishy, this is the place to go. Apparently this place has been around for years -- my colleagues in London all know about it. We had to try it, but I'm not sure we'll be back. The food was so greasy it was hard to digest. Not really our style, but we will take a few visitors who enjoy greasy fish and chips there.
I am sorry you were not satisfied with your meal ,did you let the
staff know you had a problem so they could have rectified it the best they
could . We try to do the best we can, but we are human and do make mistakes
once and awhile . Again I am sorry you were disappointed with your meal .
