Jamie Hengartner was drawn to flowers from a young age. “I was always making arrangements for my mom and family members,” she recalls, picking out dandelions and other blooms from the backyard. When Jamie’s friends got engaged, she offered her help designing arrangements for the wedding and began getting more into floristry, while also keeping up with her full-time job in marketing. “I loved it,” she says. “But I always thought it was my relaxing outlet to get out of the day-to-day grind.”
Jamie’s opportunities to practise floristry dwindled after she became a mother. “I was really missing it and started feeling that maybe that was the path I wanted to take.” So Jamie left the world of marketing and opened her own floral studio, Rylea Bloom, in October of 2015.
