The restaurant needs to be updated, looks like it was stuck in the 80’s and never looked back. Everywhere there were synthetic plants and silk flowers. The bread offered pre-meal was dry, either left out since the morning in its sliced form or at least a day old. The food was bland. The words on the menu had more flavour. My dish, which was the grilled platter, was OK, if it was it was at an outdoor BBQ, not for the price of $18. The chicken had no flavour and it was rubbery, the sausage was not good and the veal was dry. As for their pasta dishes they were bland. No real flavour, which for the Carbonara it is suppose to be creamy and a distinct balance of smokiness and saltiness flavours from the bacon. Deserts were even worst. My ice cream had ice chunks amongst the ice cream, this means it is OLD and not stored very well. For the cost of $7, I might as well have gone to the local market and got 2 tubs for that price. The crème brulee had a dark thick layer of burnt sugar. Looked like it was could survive a war with that shell. Aside from the food the service was OK, but I use this word very loosely. I know in the restaurant business it can get hectic but that is the nature of the business and servicing with a smile needs to be top of mind regardless how good or bad of a night someone may have. In this case, our server was getting very flustered and it showed. We didn't really demanded a lot from the service throughout our meal, however when the bill was present as all 3 meals on 1 bill, we had asked for separate ones. This obviously was a major inconvience as the other server sounded extremely irritated with our request. So they did it and the "irritated one" literally threw each bill onto the table demonstrating his irritation...I was not impressed at all, especially since we just spent $100-$200. It is unfortunate, the last night in town, we had to end our visit to a wonderful city in this way. I will definitely go back to the city but I would definitely steer clear of this restaurant.
Absolutely loved the atmosphere accompanied by a gourmet menu and fantastic wine selection. The Meals were presented very well, portions were well worth the money. The servers are very knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. The dessert menu was not to be missed. It was a tough decision but My wife and I picked the Strawberry Cheesecake, just remarkable. The server knew just what dessert to rselect for us. I will be back again, and again. Fine dinning at its' best.
We had an unexpected extra guest. The maitre d' made us feel like we had imposed terribly and was outright rude about it. This attitude and the ho hum food assured that we won't be back again. If I am dropping close to $450, I'll do so where I'm made to feel welcome and our celebration is made to feel special. The waiter reeked of tobacco smoke; not a pleasant experience.
Food was very good. very fresh and the wine the waiter selected (Amarone della Valpolicella) was an excellent choice. We've eaten here before and we've always been satisfied.
Service: was below average because waitress forgot to put our appetizer order in. So we said forget it. Her very long hair was not tied back either. Food: was also below average. The breast of chicken was scorched on the underside,and the whole table agreed that the smell something similar to burnt plastic. The meatballs were most bland and the rigatoni was worse than al dente. Atmosphere: was average. Tables a little too close together, no real sense of privacy. We were extremely dissapointed with the overall dining experience and will never return.
