Took long time to take orders. Food very slow waited, for a long time. When food came was just thrown down by someone I later learned to be the owner. He didn't even smile or ask us how evening was, he was actually quite rude, even when we left. waiters looked frustrated.

The chicken liver pate and pork terrene appetizer...

The chicken liver pate and pork terrene appetizer was served with 3 different types of chutney and bread that appeared to be toasted on a grill. I tend to prefer wild game terrene because the stronger flavors can standup better to the wine and bread however pork terrene would certainly appeal to a wider audience as a menu item. I enjoyed this as an appetizer and would order it again. The elk & bison special was good. Both elk and bison are difficult to grill because the meat is so lean. The meat was gilled perfectly and I would certainly order this again.

The clam chowder was interesting but it was...

The clam chowder was interesting but it was neither New England nor Manhattan style. It seems they have created their own house version of clam chowder. My guess is that most people would expect New England style, maybe Manhattan but to create a new version is certainly risky. It wasn’t what I was expecting but it was good. The linguini with chorizo sausage and clams was good. Nothing really stood out in this dish, except for the chorizo sausage which overpowered the clams. It is not unusual for pasta dishes served in restaurants to be “wonder bread”. Even though this was not a memorable pasta dish it was exactly what I was expecting and I would order it again.

Roasted tomato soup - the special was very good...

Roasted tomato soup - the special was very good. Salmon was OK but nothing special. I like a disk like this served with small toasted wafers. They also use wine glasses for the water, which are so small i had to ask for the bottle to be left at my table. I much prefer eating here for dinner. Seems to elegant for lunch for me.

My first lunch at this fine restaurant. Filled...

My first lunch at this fine restaurant. Filled up on the large caesar salad (the portion is dinner-sized), so was unable to finish the curry/pilau, but it was good. The caesar salad was excellent, as always. Service was a little less spot-on than they usually are, but they were fairly busy.
