I've been to Pomegranate and its twin brother Sheherzade many times with different people. The place is simply amazing. They serve a very authentic Persian food made out of organic ingredients - it simply tastes like heaven! The atmosphere is very special too. You feel like you are in a museum. The walls and the tables are filled with hand-made art and old Iranian photographs so it makes you want to learn more about the ancient Iranian culture. I don't know where to start on how impressed I was with this restaurant. I have been eating at Chicago Sandwiches for several months now and find the food to be superior to anything in the area. Food is always fresh, packed expertly, and served with the most courteous attitude that I've ever seen in an establishment. The staff is extremely pleasant and treats each customer with the best service. The only problem I've encountered, is that the portions are so large that I always end up with left-overs. I found my experiences at Chicago Sandwiches to be marvellous, and would encourage anyone interested in fine middle-eastern/mediterranean dining to give it a try - it obviously is one of the best middle-eastern/mediterranean restaurants in Toronto.‎ Read more

This is the place on 3rd line that I mentioned in my review of another shawarma place in Oakville. More fast food style but much tastier than the other restaurant, not a whole lot of seating, packed on Fridays. Waiting in line and waiting for the food is the tough bit. Get there before the lunch rush and you'll be fine or call in and place an order before going in and pick up is even better. Read more

Went to DC with the child for open house and decided to look for lunch on the way to 401. We passed it and turned back as we didn't want fast food. It's a tiny place with 2 tables and 4 rickety chairs but we are happy we stopped there. The girl (owner's daughter it turns out) behind the counter was sweet and efficient. She made us 4 samosas & 4 shawarmas that were delicious and filling. The owner provided 2 free bottles of water for our 1st time there as well as a orange drink for the two guys ahead of us, also their 1st time. Friendly, fun and good food too. We put the tables together and had an excellent lunch. There's just no elegant way to eat shawarmas so you need lots of napkins. Wouldn't want to eat there in the winter as it probably gets quite cold in there. Read more
