I love going to the Old Bridge Inn(OBI) all summer long. I love the way its a little tucked away restaurant where you can enjoy the view and breeze from the patio, take a walk after dinner to the locks, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with amazing food. As an appetizer, I usually have one of the salads cause the dressings are soo good. Not to sweet, not to thick, just right and the greens are never swimming in dressing either, which is something that I prefer over soggy salad. Most recently, I had the broiled trout on quinoa. Oh my god! So light, and fresh. This chef really knows how to cook fish. It was nice and moist, evenly cooked with a fresh fruit salsa on top. I loved it. I think that the trout was actually local, and the server said that it was caught just the day before. So Fresh!!! And it was accompanied with quinoa, which is a nice alternative to the plain, standard rice you get with rice in so many other restaurants. And of course, the signature vegetables! I don't know any other restaurant that gives you so many vegetables, all with individual flavours and spices. On top of it all, they carry some of Ontario's best V.Q.A. wines, as well as a variety of international vintages. I enjoyed some of the Inniskillen Pinot Grigio, and it went so well with the fish. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to get out of the city and have a great, relaxed dining experience. Read more

Dropped in for lunch this week and was very pleasantly surprised to find this calibre of Japanese food in Peterborough. Excellent food. Very authentic. So much so it helps to be familiar with Japanese food before ordering (staff speak very little English). Fixed price for as much as you want on the menu. However a note on menu says you will be charged for what you don't eat. I thought that was an inspired way to prevent the waste usually associated with all you can eat restaurants. A little pricy but you certainly get your money's worth. Looking forward to a return visit for dinner. Read more

Sure I'll go back. It's a pub with a great pub atmosphere - good selection of brew on tap. Great nachos - really good value on that - and why not? It keeps you drinking! The other food we had was fine and good value for the price. Service was friendly and attentive. Not all gorgeous as one reviewer wrote (probably an employee) but very good at the job. Wow! What a treat. We had driven by the place over and over again and there was always cars parked there no matter the time of the day and now I know why! The menu, which consists mostly of the good old hardy foods - meat and potatoes stuff - is absolutely fantastic. We were always searching for a great place to eat in Peterborough that we both could love and coming up short. We have found a great love in Uncle Georges. Sometimes the wait staff is not as good as other times, but the meal is always outstanding. We have been there 4 times in the past 4 months and love it. We will be back. Whether or not the menu changes in the summer I don't know but the prime rib is absolutely to die for. Read more

Me and my husband comes here about once a month and it's fantastic, except simetimes when he gets the full rack of ribs one of them isn't the greatest. And honestly it's the best meal for your buck.
