New Zealand born Angela McConnell was destined to become a photographer. When she was seven years old, Angela’s father gifted her a Hanimex FL 110 and a roll of film that she used up entirely on the subject of her first ever photographic experiment, her cat Shandy. Family gatherings, recreational pursuits, solitary moments and holiday travels would only fuel her desire to experience the world through her camera.
By nature an introvert, Angela realized that she could gain a deeper understanding of people, architecture, shapes and lines when she perceived them through the lens of her camera. While she worked as a pharmacy technician for 17 years in Melbourne, Australia - an occupation that would enable her to have a steady income - Angela devoted the rest of her time to developing her “photographer’s eye.”
