The bakery boasts a large range of breads, including spelt, scones and gluten-free options. All breads are made on-site at the crack of dawn; a task Tracy O’Hara used to undertake herself when she first opened shop in 2009. “We make fresh every day and when we run out, we run out. The next batch is made fresh the next day.”
You can tuck in to yummy meals like Shepherd’s Pie and quiche in DOUGH Bakeshop or get them to go and enjoy them at home or in the office. On a cold winter day, don’t forget to ask about the daily soup. “Our soup chef makes a different kind each day,” says Tracy.
This Danforth bakery is known for its handcrafted baked treats. The butter tarts are not as sweet as some of the others, but they’re definitely tasty! The filling is made with butter, brown sugar and maple syrup.
With all products baked on site, Dough Bakeshop can conform to any of your culinary needs. Gluten-free and vegan options are available, so everyone can find something fresh and tasty to enjoy on the weekends or for an afternoon snack during the workday. Pizza, soup and veggie pies top the list of baked goods, but you'll also love the locally-roasted, fair trade organic coffee.
