Sydenham Village is a quaint historic village nestled in a valley north of Kingston, Ontario. It has all the ammenities one could want in a town; a few restaurants, a bank, gift shops, a grocery and hardware store, and even a wonderful beach and community park, which we call ''The Point,'' great for sports, boating, swimming, and other outdoor recreation.Sydenham was settled in 1836, and has a rich and diverse history. It was originally called Sloats Landing, and was later named after Lord Sydenham, Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada, in office between 1839-1841. He purportedly visited here and impressed the locals such that they decided to name their home after him.The village grew over the last 150 plus years because of local mica mines, saw mills, and a regional highschool. It now contains many businesses which you can view on this site.We encourage you to visit Sydenham, and shop at the local stores. We cant wait to meet you!Rock and Roll 101 Interested in music?
