Our first experience at Lionheart pub was Valentines dinner arranged by my husband. The pub was decorated with hearts and the owner brought a Valentines mug and helium balloon to each table as a souvenir to take home. Also had made collages of our and other couples faces on cartoon bodies shown on the big screen with appropriate Valentines day sayings. Very nice touch and we appreciated the work that went into making Valentines day special. Our dinner was excellent, mine the ste ak and my husband fish and chips with bruschetta starter. Everything was top quality and even the keyboard player played romantic songs. All in all a fantastic experience and we will definately return .

    60th Birthday Party

I met with Adam the pub manager about 3 weeks prior to the party. We discussed my buget. He put together and emailed the potential menu to me in the form of an excell spreadsheet which I could manipulate to suit my requirements. The party was a great sucsess, the food was excellent and well presented, everyone at the party was very impressed. The decorations and video slide show were well done and quite creative. Our waitress Sam was very attentive till the end of our evening. Overall my guests and I were very impressed.... and most of all my wife loved it, I would definitely recommend the pub for party functions

Superlative Reviews Deliver an Adequate Experience.

Looking for a good lunch in the neighborhood with friends we selected Lionheart due to its many 5-star reviews here. With only a few folks at the bar and one other table occupied, we were very promptly greeted and served our beers. One feature here is the broad range of imported beers on tap. Nice to see when so many others local places seem tied only to Molson products. There's a broad selection of all the usual pub fare items on the menu here and we chose safely among likely the most popular items. The pickles arrived first, quite darkly fried. Maybe because of their high water content the pickles required a long fry time. Anyway, they were disppointing and my friends past up the chance to even sample them. So there they sat throughout the meal. Our mains soon arrived and were judged satisfactory. The pizza was quite large with ample toppings, big enough for two to share. Our server checked back and secured another round of beers for us. One opportunity to improve needs to be mentioned just in case management checks on these reviews. Please, - servers need to be reminded they are "on stage" while anywhere in the customers view. Facing the kitchen doors, I was regularly treated to our server performing an apparel adjustment that required a 360-degree hip rotation just inside the kitchen and before the door could close behind her. Oh well. Everything considered, it's a pleasant enough place for a relaxing meal and I'd recommend giving it a try. However, in my opinion all the recent 5-star reviews from folks who have never shared their experience on any other establishment should be heavily discounted. If this is their concept of "Best ever", they are missing a lot out of dining out.

    Wonderful experience!

I recently celebrated a birthday with friends at Lionheart and cannot stress what a great experience it was. The owner went above and beyond -- he even had a birthday balloon and funny slideshow prepared (with a few pictures I provided of the birthday girl). She was blown away and I was very happy with the decision to make the reservation there. Even though the place was packed, the waitress was great with our numerous requests. Everyone enjoyed their food (massive portions) and our diverse group was very happy with the variety of food and drink choices available. Everything was great! Love this place!

    AVOID WEDNESDAYS

On arrival the atmosphere was OK. Its a "pub". Although not busy when we arrived we stood around waiting to be seated. When we were seated it was in a corner by a door to the patio. The chair at the table was a patio chair and initially didn't think it would bother me. However, after we had received our drinks and sat for a while in the cold corner I decided I wanted a regular chair. Our waiter had disappeared for a while so I put the chair in the corner and stood up hoping to catch his attention. He came by and served drinks to the table next to us and didn't even notice I had no chair and was standing. The people at the adjacent tables were roaring with laughter. After 10 minutes the couple next to us gets up and the gentleman gives me his chair thanking me for the comedy. Waiter eventually comes around and takes our order. In the mean time they start up some ridiculous trivia game in the place with some gomer yelling questions through the PA system. I can't even have a conversation with my guest. Two ladies at the next table are looking around with annoyed looks on their faces and they ask me what gives and I reply "got me I am from out of town". Our order comes: Vindaloo Beef and Bangers and Mash. For a British Pub this should be a slam dunk. Nope, air ball big time. Mashed potatoes stone cold. Sausages barely better. My guest didn't say anything until I asked because of his lack of enthusiasm getting into his plate. Another server came by and asked how we were doing and I told her the dish was cold. She apologized and took it back. In the meantime my guest told me I should go ahead and eat mine. The flavour of the Vindaloo Beef was on however the potatoes were not hot and the rice it was served on was crunchy. My guests plate came back and was tepid. Pretty much fed up we just ate the rest. Our original server eventually showed up again, didn't ask how was our meal just if we wanted another "round" or some dessert. Very disappointed, never ever go back. Spent easily 1/3 of what I usually would when I buy for a client.
