My sister has panic attacks and suffers from breathing issues. She cannot handle wearing a face covering due to both. She was refused service and kicked out of the store. Staff were rude to her telling her that it is a privately owned store so, too bad. She had $1000 to spend of fabric and other items to make our grandmother special clothing designed to help caregivers dress her in her wheelchair. She came home balling her eyes out over this. Poor girl already has it bad due to her own problems.
I am very new to sewing and needed some help understanding the pattern I was working on. The staff member that helped was friendly and provided excellent service, but I went back in to the store to get something else a few minutes later and two of the staff members were joking about how stupid my questions had been. I found another fabric store further up Gardiner's Road and will be doing my shopping there from now on!
I can honestly say this is the first time I have written a review. I wanted to do this because the service I received was totally out of character for this Fabricland location. I have gone out of my way to go to other locations because most of the time the staff is rude and obnoxious. HOWEVER I met the most PLEASANT lady. Her name is MARGIE. She was PROFESSIONAL and assisted me with her full attention. She was FRIENDLY and ENGAGING. I enjoyed shopping that day. Thankyou Margie.
Watched as staff made jokes and rude comments about customers they had served. Nice behavior from grown women in the retail business who's main objective should be to help and support customers... hmm.... Fabricland belleville will be our fabric shopping choice from now on...Maybe its time to take a good long look staff requirements before hiring....!!
