TechNova was established as the Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists of Nova Scotia in 1967 by a group of local engineers, educators and technology professionals in order to maintain and regulate professional standards for technicians and technologists. Today, TechNova represents engineering professionals across Nova Scotia that work in one of 14 disciplines: Bioscience, Building, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Forestry, Geomatics, Industrial, Instrumentation, IT, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Petroleum. TechNova and its volunteer Council regulate the Applied Science and Technology Act of Nova Scotia.
