The province of Manitoba is located in the centre of Canada and is actually at North America's geographic centre, bordered by Saskatchewan to the west, Ontario to the east, Nunavut to the north, and to the south by North Dakota and Minnesota. Its landscape is made up of rich agricultural soil as well as prairie grassland in the south, Precambrian Shield rock structures, lakes and forests to the east and north, which eventually give way to the arctic coastline and tundra in the extreme north. Just 104 kilometres north of the US border, we find the capital city of Winnipeg, a city of approximately 730,000 people with a rich history based on the early explorers, periods of high immigration and a cultural diversity that makes it truly a unique place to visit.
