The line-up for Earnest Ice Cream sometimes stretches out its doors, but for good reason: their ice cream is the tops! Naturally, they’re experts at sundaes as well, blending textures, flavours and ingredients into heavenly creations. Limited-edition sundae options rotate frequently and feature the best of what’s local and tasty (and there’s usually a vegan option too). Seasonal sundae flavours have included strawberry jam and biscuits, caramel walnut crunch, strawberry rhubarb shortcake, and a breakfast sundae with cereal milk ice cream and housemade granola.
One of my favourite locations for a frozen treat, Earnest Ice Cream scoops a variety of unique and delicious flavour that simply cannot be found anywhere else! Be sure to stop by one of their locations after dinner (Fraser Street and Quebec Street are both open until 10:00 pm), or try to hunt down their Scoop Truck to try out their one-of-a-kind flavours. Options include whiskey hazelnut, London Fog, oatmeal brown sugar, peanut butter and jam, and strawberry balsamic.
Both the Olympic Village location and the Fraser Street location of this beloved small-batch ice cream shop are participating in the Hot Chocolate Festival this year, and guests can choose whether they want to be naughty or nice. Virtuous sippers can try the vegan Spiced Hot Chocolate – an affogato-style dark hot chocolate topped with Earnest’s chai tea ice cream. For a boozy indulgence, order the Spiked Hot Chocolate, which was created in partnership with Sons of Vancouver Distillery. The smooth drinking chocolate is topped with Amaretto-flavoured whipped cream and is served with a scoop of Amaretto ice cream and almond brittle.
