When Sarina Rose was going through university, she developed an affinity for photography; so, during one of her summer breaks, she decided to take a job at a photo studio. She ended up working with a couple of women who were shooting boudoir portraits. The timing was such that these two women, who started Pink Blush Boudoir, were about to leave the business. “We had this company running and clients coming in the door and no one to take it over, so I did,” says Sarina. “Before then, photography was a hobby I really enjoyed but never imagined I could make money doing.”
When Pink Blush Boudoir first started, it shared with another studio operating out of a home. “I realized it was a really good atmosphere. The women felt more comfortable coming to a home-based business,” says Sarina. In 2015, Sarina bought a home and set up different rooms with various styles, from flirtatious to ravishing. “Some girls want more dramatic lighting, others will want a bright and colourful feel to their images,” she says. “It’s about being able to offer our clients variety.”
This studio offers multiple options for boudoir shoots: the Flirtatious Room, the Ravishing Room and the Kissable Room. They also have a separate waiting room and hair and makeup room. The team at Pink Blush Boudoir offers multiple boudoir packages: The Basics, which includes a one-hour shoot, hair and makeup and 10 fully-retouched images for $750; Somewhere in Between, which consists of a one-hour shoot, hair and makeup, 15 retouched images and an album; or All the Frills, which includes a one-and-a-half hour shoot, hair and makeup, 20 retouched images, an album and up to 20 additional un-retouched images.
