The daughter of a serial entrepreneur, Marie-Claude Geoffrion found her career took an unexpected turn when she acquired a commercial building on Saint-Denis Street, in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal.
As a lifelong enthusiast of interior design, Marie-Claude was attracted to the idea of opening a furniture and design shop and starting a business with her father. After having travelled for about six years with the Montreal-based equestrian show Cavalia, Marie-Claude missed her family and friends and decided to put down roots.
Together, she and her father worked on the concept, the name and the design of the shop. However, the actual name of the shop came about literally by accident: the architect, while travelling by plane, made a typo when writing the name of the project and so it became Dcovia. On April 29, 2010, a year after embarking on the project, the shop was born. The result perfectly reflects Marie-Claude's style and personality.
