It is in the gritty yet homey neighbourhood of Pointe-Saint-Charles Jermaine Wallace decided to open a restaurant that transports its diners to the Caribbean with just one bite. This Jamaican native’s main objective is to provide customers with an authentic Jamaican dining experience.
“We love it when people come here for the first time seeking new flavours,” he says. “We’re a unique restaurant and diners feel the true spirit of Jamaica in our cuisine, our décor and our service.”
Offering Jamaican staples like jerk chicken , curried goat and Jamaican patties, the menu at Boom J's Cuisine has something for anybody who wants a proper introduction to the island's cuisine.

food is good but the place could use a good solid cleaning. dirt caked all over the floors and walls and cob webs everywhere. can't imagine the kitchen area is any cleaner.
The food is good, it's pretty cheap but they're a bit slow even when you call earlier.
The jerk chicken is great. The roti was really good but the recipe seems to have changed to be more potato and less vegetables. Still tasty though. My only complaint is that calling ahead to pick something up rarely makes it any faster. Just drop in and wait instead. The people are great though - always friendly and cheerful.

Don’t be fooled by the quaint and simple decor, the amazing food here makes Boom J’s one of Montreal’s best Jamaican joints. The jerk chicken is cooked on an authentic drum that was imported from Kingston, Jamaica. The curried goat is also popular and I love the coco bread.
