The very moment we were seated i can hear the waitress arguing with a customer about not honoring the price that they've told her earlier over the phone when they made those advancements order. Seconds later, the heated customer barged out of the door and left. The waitress followed out and came back protesting to her other colleagues that they took off in their car and left already. I thought to myself did they really think chasing them out could either bring them back in or take their money for compensation? Momentarily later the waitress with a very bad attitude walked up to our table and asked what we wanted and informed us that the "Boston Lobster Combo" which was originally $50 is now doing a special of $38. Being a very observational person like myself i knew it was a back order from the customer that left the restaurant so she wanted to get rid of it by up selling it to me which i kindly declined. Moments later, we decided to have our orders taken and the same waitress came to attend us with a very UNFRIENDLY and RUDE attitude. It felt like she was channeling her rage from previous argument towards us which was not fair for us but we still got orders taken regardless. The sushi combo for two arrived very shortly after the order was taken in the system. Nothing spectacular about the sushi as the quality was decent. A better description would be slightly above sushi from a sushi buffet restaurant. Both udons with their respective side dishes arrived while we were halfway finishing our sushi platter. Soup was decent, texture and quality of udon was decent as well. One thing i don't understand is why put bean sprouts in a Udon which made it tasted weird. The only explanation i can think of is this location of Ginza serves thai food as well which was listed on the very back of the menu so they made their own pho and udon fusion. The chicken that came with the udon was a little bit dry and over fried. Sauce was only drizzled on top of the chicken katsu which was definitely not enough. Fried tempura shrimp was decent and the best food surprisingly were the tempura vegetables. Despite being fried into a tempura veg, the texture and taste were still maintained. After the meal, we asked a male waiter to get us our bill as well as our dessert if it came with our sushi combo for 2 by any chance. The waiter asked what flavor of ice cream we wanted and how many and just when i was about to finish the order the rude waitress gave me the eye cut as if i was trying to scam a $0.05 worth of ice cream off them and quickly intervene our order yelled out loud in mandarin "DON'T HAVE DONT'T HAVE" which somehow understand. I told the waiter that it was "okay" if it didn't came with but i was extremely disappointed at the service that the waitress provided because she should have told me kindly that it did not came with it instead of yelling out loud and making a big scene about a small misunderstanding. It almost felt like i was very un-welcomed to this restaurant and that she did not have a decency in providing a good service to their customer or cared about the entire restaurant at all. Despite receiving the worst service ever that i have experienced, i still tipped the gentleman that also served our table because he was not at fault for the terrible dining experience i have had. The food was only AVERAGE at most and you can get this quality at almost any Japanese restaurant in Toronto. I will definitely not return here ever again. Breakdown of what i had that night Sushi combo for two $18, chicken katsu udon $6.95, and tempura udon $6.95. Total came up to be around $35 and i tipped them $3 which was $38. Not worth the money...
I used to frequent Ginza at least once a week until a few months ago. The service and quality of the food had always been pretty good but then something changed...namely their sushi rice. We received maki and nigiri made with rice that was overcooked and underseasoned, making the rice gluely and bland. Unfortunately, this ruined the sushi. We thought they may have had an "off" night, so we decided to go back a few more times and each time, the rice was the same overcooked mess. It's too bad that such a good sushi restaurant wouldn't spend the time to make sure that their basic ingredients are worth using.
Not bad but not great either. The Sunshine roll was very bland. Service was weak. It looked to us that our server did not want to be there. The restaurant itself is quite cold...they should try turning on the heat! Overall, there was nothing about this place that really stood out to me. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this restaurant again.
the worst sushi I have ever had!! Ordered delivery otherwise I would have sent it back. There was bbq sauce or something on the spicy tuna, I actually had to spit it out! sorry about the bad review, but this sushi place needs some serious work. The fish was not fresh and very slimy. sorry again, but I would never go there or recommend it to anyone
The food was great and the tea was never past half full. The people there were very friendly.
Very good Sushi without the huge prices. Service quick and helpful. Tea refilled without asking. Green tea ice cream at the end of the meal a bonus. A great place to eat and enjoy.
