It was a pleasant experience. We had a table in the back room. It was quiet and private which was nice since my friend had come from Toronto for a visit. The best . . . The food was homemade and delicious!

One Word amazing

I am originally from wales and I haven't had a good british dinner in 4 years, but when we visited Canada I saw this place and had to try, and we weren't disopointmented I had steak and kidney pie and home made chips and tea and it was great. and then a triple chocolate cheese cake to finish off, they even let us split on and it was huge, good prices lovely hosts.. will be there again should we visit.

Excellent food, very reasonable prices!

A 10/10. We were looking for a place to have lunch while we were in Niagara Falls and turned to Restaurantica. Reviews looked great so we went to the location in the posting -- NOTE! They've moved! Thoroughly enjoyed the tea, fish & mashed and the chicken pot pie. Only minor inconvenience was they didn't have high chairs for the baby, but we just used our stroller and worked just fine. Would definiately return -- hosts just seem like great people.

The best value in Niagara

If you are of British heritage you're going to love this place and if you're not you are going to still love it . While the outside of the building is nothing special the inside is warm , very hospitable and tastefully decorated . We started out with a fresh pot for two of Monks tea which was so good we purchased some to take home at a very inexpensive price . I had the haddock and chips which was fresh and not greasy with a very nice thin batter . The chips were the English hand cut type and were cooked in a very clean light oil that were delicious and a nice change from the kind you get in hamburg joints . My wife had the cornish pasty which she is still telling people how much she loved, now several days after our trip . The portions are more then generous and being full we got some cheese cake to go and found it among the best we have ever had . This restaurant is the best value for your money in Niagara Falls IMHO .

Absolutely Wonderful!!

First off, do NOT use Google Maps to find the Tea Room. Google Maps will send you to Main Street in Chippewa. Second, the review. One word..... PHENOMENAL!!! The service was amazing, we were constantly checked up on to make sure everything was how we wanted it to be. The interior was charming! There were wall-papered walls and England imported china cups. We ordered Shandy Bass which we will let the wonderful owners explain but a def. must have when dining here. We ate the chicken pot pie and fish and chips, which were the BEST fish and chips we've ever had! All the meals are home made and there is extensive prep work involved with every meal. Dessert was absolutely fantastic and we recommend the Triple Chocolate Cheesecake to anyone, especially a chocolate lover!! The resturant has already been reommended to family and friends. When we're in Niagara Falls again we WILL be back to Queen Charlotte!

Authentic English

This English restaurant is fabulous! All of the meals are homemade...no frozen meals out of a box or bag! Delicious! Our host was attentive and kind, the chef...wonderful! Charming Olde English atmosphere....definitely less expensive than N-o-t-L and better. We will absolutely be coming again. Next time, for High Tea.

delicious

My family and I visited this charming little restaurant for the first time on a Friday night as we we hungry for some great fish and chips. We were not disappointed! It was absolutely delicious. My daughter enjoyed her sandwich and salad as well. We can't wait to go back again and try their sheppard's pie, quiche and the mouthwatering display of desserts. The atmosphere was quaint and friendly and the service great as well. This is a really nice place that is special without being fancy, I really think locals would appreciate this restaurant as much as we did. If you haven't tried it yet you should definitely do so soon!

There's no need to go to Niagara-on-the-lake for a great afternoon tea!

I absolutely love going for afternoon tea - it's one of my favourite things! For many years I've been going to the Irish Tea Room in Niagara-on-the-lake (and occasionally to the tea room at the Prince of Wales Hotel), but now I am a loyal fan of the Queen Charlotte Tea Room. Granted the selection of teas is not as vast as it is at the Prince of Wales, and the space is not nearly as grand as its N-O-T-L competitors - but it's pretty darn impressive for such a modest establishment! And be forewarned, this is not just a tea room....it's a restaurant with a full menu of salads, sandwiches, pies/quiches, fish 'n' chips, and dessert. All of the food is made entirely from stratch and is unbelievably good. Not only is this a great place to have afternoon tea, but it's also a great place to eat. They have a variety of homemade, individual sized pies ready to be taken home (stock your freezer with them!), fresh baked goods, and British candy! What more could you ask for?

Firstly, this restaurant has moved, and is now on Main St. in Niagara Falls, which was less than a 10 minute drive from the tourist area in Niagara. We went twice to the Queen Charlotte during our stay. The quaint little house, is wallpapered and frilly, and even my husband found this cozy and welcoming. The first time we had the fish and chips, which was authentic, British, fish and chips. Nothing comes from a freezer in this place. The staff was absolutely wonderful, and made our visit that much better. My husband was drooling over the desert counter, and got himself a bakewell tart. A pot of tea, two fish and chips, and a tart, and our bill was $18!! Fantastic! Everything, including the breads, are made on site, and are just delicious. The next day we booked high tea. It was not the best high tea we have ever had, but it was lovely nonetheless, and modestly priced. We can't believe how fortunate we were to have found this charming little tea shop, and would definitely visit again in the future. We could not give a stronger recommendation.
