never disappointed in the live entertainment. lots of audience participation
It was a friend's birthday this past weekend and he wanted to go to the Wortley Roadhouse for breakfast. It's not someone I have tried in the past 10 years but we figured that the patio was nice and it would be a decent meal. Breakfast should be hard to mess up after all. Everyone ordered breakfast except one person who had onion rings. It took a long time to come, the inside was a little busy so we didn't really mind the wait. Two people had ordered juice which tasted watered down, heavily. When we actually got our food, no one had their eggs cooked the way they had asked for (and we were sure everyone had the right plate). Myself, I made the mistake of ordered steak and eggs (which is described in the menu as a new york strip). I seriously don't believe I got my new york strip. What I got was a thin, grey, cold piece of meat that was still ringed with a thick layer of fat. The steak was tough and tasteless and I never finished it. Not long after we had started eating, our waitress came to the table with our bills. We were never asked if we would like more drinks, we were never asked how the food was or if we needed anything. We had all our bills sitting on the table before we were even close to being finished eating or drinking out first round. Needless to say we will never be back.
We live within walking distance of the Wortley and make our way there periodically during the summer for a quick bite and a beer. The sweet potatoes fries are great and so are the chicken fingers and burgers. Just don't go there expecting the best meal of your life in a fancy environment -- it's not Moxies, it's a bar and haas bar food. The beer is cold and their is always the same faces every time we stop in. The only thing that would improve on the place is to get rid of the smoking on the patio. It is awful to want to eat outside without gagging on smoke and not having the choice. All in all -- a good place for bar food, relaxing, no pressure atmosphere, and cold beer.
After being recommended to the Wortley from a friend at work, me and the guys came down for a few drinks and something to eat. The food was delicious, the service was great too! Only thing was we wished the draught was a bit colder - other than that it was a great experience. The odd thing is I recommended this place to one of my neighbors, only to find out that he waited 45 minutes for a breakfast that was greasy and overcooked. I felt a little embarrassed, although I stand with my review. Will be back again to try a breakfast for myself.
Listen people, this is not a place for a gourmet meal. That said, if you live in the neighborhood, it's a great place to hang out and meet new people. Wortley Village has been rated one of the best places to live in Canada, and it's not by accident. I agree, the food isn't great, but it's a wonderful place to meet artsy, open-minded people in conservative london. The bartenders are fantastic. It's all about the socializing. Go somewhere else for food.
Sunday morning, we sat on patio and had our order taken promptly enough. An hour later having seen no other food being delivered to any table inside or out we finally get our undercooked eggs (a running theme in the reviews for this place) and bacon which looked like it had been cooking for the hour wait. Steak was the one plus, although we were informed it was a nicer cut left over from a function the previous day. Having hardly eaten anything and complaining all food and drink was compted. Only go here to drink on the patio in summer.
Food was excellent. Soup was outstanding. Sandwich toasted was excellent and not soggy. Bacon crisp as I requested.Sandwich was ready promptly.Could stand a couple of dessert choices, even if only ice cream and cheese cake.
The food was perfect bar food to go with the beers, the server was cute and she made an effort to make us feel attended to. I really liked how after the meal was done we could go to the patio and smoke with our beers at a table with chairs.
We are not from London but had to be in the area for a death and funeral the following week. 4 of us had breakfast the first weekend and just assumed it was an off day. Bad service, snooty server, had 2 send 2 orders back as eggs not cooked. So we went again the following weekend and it was just as bad. We would never go back.
the food is gross and the service is lousy and the place is dirty and smelly YUK
Wow the waitress told me they have the best omellets around i can't even say how wrong and awful this was. We use this site to take our kids out to eat once a week for lunch and were close to the wortley and in need of some food and thought it cant be as bad as people say!! IT WAS... I cant cook and coulda made our order in half the time with old canned goods and stuff laying around the house!! There was more Hair on our plates then food!! Yuck.. This place needs a whole make over for us to ever go back
If i could give this restaraunt a zero i would! My wife and i didnt make it through finishing half our breakfast before a long black hair was found(Ever hear of Hairnets) I am suprized this kitchen hasn't been closed... I will Never eat there again I had a coffee that was burnt and i'm ashamed there are kitchens this bad out there...
the worst breakfast in town right to the burnt coffee!!!!!!!!!DO NOT GO
The staff at this place is not friendly at all, waitress's or the manager. The bands take big long breaks there and its just not a friendly atmosphere at all due to the staff members so we have chosen to go elsewhere for our entertainment.
Cold Beer, Great Atomosphere, Even Better Music. Good Kind People, Nice Patio, Right in the heart of The Wortley Village, Old South, London Ontario.
Service was bad, the food & menu are something you would find in a greasey spoon restaurant. the blonde lady from Managment was rude and nasty. I'd rather eat on Fear Factor
