SHIATSU is a Japanese therapy that traces its origins back to ancient Chinese medical traditions. Combining the knowledge of anatomy and physiology with the wisdom of oriental medical philosophy, shiatsu employs the techniques of manual pressure and gentle stretching to release tension and stress. Some of the conditions that shiatsu can help include: muscular tension and pain, headaches, arthritic pain, digestive problems, menstrual irregularities, insomnia, and anxiety. Ted Thomas, owner and director of Sourcepoint, has been practicing shiatsu since 1984 and teaching since 1986. He is a Registered Shiatsu Therapist with the Shiatsu Therapy Association of BC, a Registered Acupuncturist, and a Certified Zen Shiatsu Instructor with the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia. Since its establishment in 1987, Sourcepoint Shiatsu Massage Therapy Centre has been instrumental in promoting public awareness about the many health benefits of shiatsu and other therapeutic treatments through our busy Vancouver clinic, and popular courses and training programs. Sourcepoint Shiatsu Centre offers a variety of therapeutic treatments to empower your body's natural energy, including, Shiatsu, Acupuncture, Aromatherapy, CranioSacral Therapy, Homeopathy and Reiki.
